Tips & Hints on how to correctly maintain your underground fence system.


After installation, an underground fence system is fairly easy to maintain. However, there are some things that you need to know before installing an underground fence system. Below is a compiled list of some hints and tips to help you maintain your underground fence system.


  • Make sure to check to see if your pet’s collar is secured whenever you leave your pet unsupervised.

  • Even though the transmitter of your underground fence system is durable, it is not suitable for extreme weather. Therefore, we recommend that you mount the transmitter in a cool, dry spot.

  • When purchasing an underground fence system, it is advised that your purchase a system made for your size pet.

  • Puppies under the age of 6 months should not be trained with an underground fence system.

  • Do not keep the specialized collar on a pregnant dog.

  • Always check to see if the correction level on the receiver is what you want it at.

  • Make sure to check the battery life on the receiver once every couple weeks, it is also recommended that you have a set of back-up batteries in storage.

  • If you have an aggressive dog it is advised that you make sure it is properly trained before leaving it unsupervised. Some dogs need a physical fence and an underground fence system to keep it at bay.

  • More wire is available if you need to extend the boundary on your underground fence system.
